A Masonic Renaissance - the 2011 One Day Class

On Saturday, November 5, 2011, Corinthian Lodge No. 573 hosted the western Pennsylvania regional one day “Man to Mason” class. In accordance with R.W.P.G.M. Thomas K. Sturgeon’s initiative to revitalize Pennsylvania Freemasonry, the one day class was held at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center. Candidates who began the day uninitiated were able to end the day having been conferred the degree of Master Mason. Many of these worthy men would otherwise have been prevented from participating in the fraternity in the traditional manner due to family, work, time, or other committments.

A total of seventy-nine candidates from around the region were initiated into Freemasonry; eight of which joined our lodge. The event was attended by R.W.P.G.M. Sturgeon, as well as a delegation of members of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and Deputy District Grand Masters from across the region. Members of Corinthian Lodge #573 performed opening and closing rituals and also took part in each of the three degrees.
